Meal Prep!

This is it guys! 3 more days to go!!!! My important advice for you now is that you should start relaxing,  NO CRAMMING but you can do some light reading (but not memorizing), to give your brain some air and space to absorb all the things that you have been practicing and reviewing for the past few months. I know it is difficult to not to think about reviewing and the exam, but you must do it for your sake and to not overwhelm yourself or even stressed out yourselves to the point of being scared of the exam.

Also start double or triple checking your items to bring to the exam like what E mentioned in Last Minute "don't forget" Items. It is really important to do this, because it would help lessen the things you need to think about  for the exam and to occupy yourself during the remaining days.

Forwarding to the thing that I want to share for additional items to prepare for the exam, which is.....

"What will you eat during the exam?"

LAST MINUTE "don't forget!" ITEMS

*We do not own this picture :)

For the board exam takers this year, 9 days left before the board exams!! I guess by now, all you should be doing is having last minute heavy studying and serious speed drafting too. The critical time is during the last 3-5 days before the exam where you should be resting, relaxing and do-not-panic mode

More than books

We're down to the last 21 days before the board exam and I'm pretty sure that most of your brain cells are tired of just reading reading reading... Drafting drafting drafting.

Read draft draw colour read draft draw draw colour colour read some more color and lalalalalala.
This picture is here just because cookies + cold milk = SARAP PANG-BREAK TIME

Well, here's a list of alternatives you can do to avoid those headaches from too much reading.

On this day, a year ago

My view the saturday after that 3-day mock exam!!!!!

On this day, a year ago, I have just finished the last day of our grueling 3-day mock exam. I STILL REMEMBER THE FEELING!!!!! I was super semi-relieved  to have finished the mock exams… And it was a great feeling not doing any studying at all during that night!

Don’t forget (Overlooked needs during review)

Review period will definitely overwhelm you, not only with information but with your priorities. There are a number of things that are as important as studying. Like we mentioned in our previous posts, you have to be ready mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. Here is a list of some things you might be forgetting to do while you’re studying:

1.       Sleep!! (Rest or power naaaap!)

Never underestimate the power of rest! You might ignore the number of hours you’ve been sleeping as the board exam approaches… Seriously. The anxiety of not studying enough will haunt you and might make you stay up late at night. Which, believe me, is very unnecessary especially if the exam is weeks away! Remember to rest your brain and body after a whole day of studying. J

Check this article about Sleep Deprivation (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/11/121121145400.htm) and the author’s recommendation when the best studying times are!

Practice Makes Perfect

Time flies so fast, it’s already August! Have you guys prepared your requirements for PRC? More or less at this time you should completed your requirements in preparation for the exam application; deadline of application will be on September 13, 2015.

Next month will be the mock exam schedule for the review center. Are you ready? I know that mostly would say “NO”, but here is the thing...  no one is actually fully ready for any exam ever. When I scheduled my mock exam last year, E and I chose the 1st week. At that time, we know that we’re not really that ready for the mock exam.

We chose the earliest schedule because we want to test what we know up to that time frame. After the exam we’ll just review and access the things that we missed in the mock exam. One of the advantage of taking the mock exam earlier is that you can get the chance to check your papers on your own and even review your mistakes. The review center allows the takers to manually check their papers if they want to.

Reward Award!

Three months prior the board exam, I bet you still feel good, on the pace of reviewing, still sane despite the long hours. Wait for a few more weeks, especially when you get your permit, you might be starting to panic? Sleeping late? Over-study yourself?

Don’t forget that you still have a life other than studying. You still can go out with friends once in awhile, eat at your favorite restaurant or even watch a movie. Never punish yourself by studying 24/7 just because you only have a few months away!

Thankfully this is one thing Mikki and I do together! Almost everyday after review, we would either eat super good food or watch a movie at home. Cheap budget-friendly things only!! Since I resigned from work and Mikki took a 4-month leave… Therefore, we had no budget for splurging on food or going out for shopping to distress ourselves. (Haha!)

My Daily Routine

Hello guys! It has been already a month since the start of the review, how are you holding up with the review? Are you already used to your routine since the start of your review? Are you still eating properly and sleeping enough?

I will be sharing daily routine schedule when I was still in the review class. How I manage my review time efficiently and stress free!!!

Here is a comic strip illustration of my schedule during the time that I still had review class.

Remembering, Not Forgetting

Yesterday was the start of the 4-month long leave of Mark, my officemate. He has decided to take the Interior Design Board Examination this coming October!

To give him a bit of good luck, I lent him some of my notes from my last year’s review that is mostly reading materials and other visual materials. I’m hoping that it would help him during the review. I also gave him more practical advice and tips in reviewing and preparing for the board exam.
Even now thinking about the board exam, I can still remember all the feelings and experiences like it was just yesterday, reviewing and preparing for almost five exhausting months for the exam. It took a lot of investment such as energy, emotions, mind, faith and money, just to be able to prepare properly and pass the examination.
