Reward Award!

Three months prior the board exam, I bet you still feel good, on the pace of reviewing, still sane despite the long hours. Wait for a few more weeks, especially when you get your permit, you might be starting to panic? Sleeping late? Over-study yourself?

Don’t forget that you still have a life other than studying. You still can go out with friends once in awhile, eat at your favorite restaurant or even watch a movie. Never punish yourself by studying 24/7 just because you only have a few months away!

Thankfully this is one thing Mikki and I do together! Almost everyday after review, we would either eat super good food or watch a movie at home. Cheap budget-friendly things only!! Since I resigned from work and Mikki took a 4-month leave… Therefore, we had no budget for splurging on food or going out for shopping to distress ourselves. (Haha!)

Anyway, here is Mikki’s top 3 Reward Award list:

1.     Watching TV series after my review sessions.  Historical TV series were her favorite! It was still somehow related to some review subjects… So win-win all the time! J
2.     Buying Take-Out food.  She’s one of those people who are easily pleased when you give her food. Hihi. J
3.     Socialize with friends. Even for just an hour or two, talking about topics not related to the exam would help relax the brain.

Here’s is my top 3 Reward Award list:

1.     Going out for a run. I tried doing at least 15minutes, 3x a week just to distress from all the sitting down and 3-hour everyday class!
2.     Date night! Hehe. Yes, this was a reward! Date night with your significant other or GNO with yer gerlfrendz!!
3.     Eating dessert. Just like how when we were kids, we’d be bribed with dessert if we finish our food or do chores. Same concept, eating dessert never felt so goooood.

The point is, just find something fun that you want to do. Rewards doesn’t need to be something all day, it can just be a simple nap or having freshly cooked pasta for lunch. You don’t need much to feel energized again to work.

Put aside enough time for it, and never over estimate the reward time! I know it’s tempting but remember your goal is to prepare for the exam and not have a vacation for three months.
