Also start double or triple checking your items to bring to the exam like what E mentioned in Last Minute "don't forget" Items. It is really important to do this, because it would help lessen the things you need to think about for the exam and to occupy yourself during the remaining days.
Forwarding to the thing that I want to share for additional items to prepare for the exam, which is.....
"What will you eat during the exam?"
I know some of you may respond......
"Is there even enough time to eat?"
-YES! YES! YES! Definitely, you must make a time to at least rest eat during the exam even for just 5 to 10 minutes or else after the exam you will feel so drained that you might even feel light headed and worst you might forget things accidentally because you will feel panicky and nervous at the same time (adrenaline rush).
Like what I experienced last year, on the first day I got startled and overwhelmed that I forgot to eat in between the Interior Design subject at the end of the exam and because of that the worst thing happened to me during the exam is that I actually forgot to pass 1 of my paper to the examiner.
I didn't notice that I still have a paper that is still mounted on my big drawing board (complete with 4 tape on each borders) because at that time I was using 2 drawing boards, the smaller board (where I was doing my perspectives) was covering the other plans, when the proctor shouted that we must submit our papers because it was already 5pm. I panicked and just pulled out all the loosed papers and leaving my completed itemized furniture drawing on my drafting board. I only discovered it the next day and I almost lost all my confidence for the rest of the exam, fortunately I have my classmates who supported me and told me to go on and not think about it.
What I want to point out in my experience is that my alertness and awareness was not very keen in the end of the 1st day because I didn't eat anything in between the exam and it led me to almost failing my exam all together. It is important that you fuel yourself even just for a short time to regain your consciousness and alertness during the exam.
"What should I prepare?"
During my mock exams, I tried several food but I opted Spam/ Ham Sandwich and Spicy Tuna Sandwich. Sandwiches are the most easy to eat food and less messy. You can just put it in a sandwich bag and eat it from there. No mess, no crumbs.
I choose these two sandwiches because it is convenient to bring not only to exam proper but also its ingredients are very handy to bring to the dormitory, lastly it is easy to prepare in the morning and less tedious, most especially tuna sandwich because you don't need to cook the tuna, also I mentioned it "spicy" tuna because it makes me more alert during the exam after eating it.
(left-right) Spam Sandwich and Spicy Tuna Snadwich |
- Bread (you can also opt for pandesal [E's preference], don't limit yourself with tasty sliced bread)
- 1 can of Spam or any variant you prefer
- Bread
- 1 or 2 sachet of small mayonnaise (Lady's Choice brand have this sachet size, even with comes with other flavored mayo)
- 1 can of tuna (depending on your preference)
- Option: Lettuce (you can add this also if you prefer more nutritious)
Overall, I just want for you guys to also think about the food that you will be bringing and eating for the exam, because it can make or break your exam and I'm totally sure of it. Please don't think lightly of this matter. It really almost cost me my exam last year, so I'm earnestly giving this important advice for the exam. Hoping that I could help you understand the role of small meals during the exam.
Good Luck guys!
M
